Institutional visit of the Catalan Minister for Research and Universities to IGTP to learn about its research and innovation projects in health

Núria Montserrat, Minister for Research and Universities, visited the CMCiB. The aim of the visit was to gain first-hand insight into the scientific and technological projects carried out in fields such as bioimaging, experimental surgery, and the validation of new medical devices and therapies. Additionally, the visit provided an opportunity to further explore IGTP's impact on translational research and its contribution to health innovation.

Researchers use the Hallmarks of Cancer to get a new perspective on tumour growth

A team led by the Cancer Immunogenomics group at IJC, BSC and IGTP shows, for the first time, that within a tumour, the expression of the different hallmarks of cancer is not cell-specific, but rather position-specific. Under this new light, tumour architecture emerges as a valuable source of information to understand tumour dynamics and predict its sensitivity to anticancer drugs.

IGTP secures over €3.5 million to establish a national network addressing challenges of myotonic dystrophy type 1

IGTP has been awarded €3,547,417 in funding to conduct the "DM1-Hub" project, coordinated by Dr Gisela Nogales Gadea, leader of GRENBA, with Dr. Arturo López Castel of INCLIVA serving as co-principal investigator.

A new triple combination of inhibitors based on precision medicine emerges as a potential new treatment for Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumours

A multicenter collaboration led by IDIBELL - ICO and IGTP identified a potential new treatment for an aggressive sarcoma arising in the nerves. The findings have been published in the journal Clinical Cancer Research.

Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (HUGTIP), Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), and the Digital Health Hub have signed an agreement to promote technological innovation and its transfer to the healthcare sector. It aims to leverage the synergies between the three entities to create a solid collaboration network that facilitates the exchange of knowledge and technology, streamlines the use of available resources, develops innovation projects, accelerates the validation of technological solutions and promotes joint research and training activities.

Over a hundred professionals attend the UAB conference on the challenges facing university hospitals

The UAB organised a conference dedicated to the challenges of university hospitals, bringing together over one hundred professionals from the research institutes of affiliated hospitals and the University itself. Josep Manyé and Marc Jante from IGTP had the opportunity to briefly present their innovative research projects.
