VIDEO: Life Cycle of 'Plasmodium vivax': Highlighting New Cryptic Erythrocytic Stages

To better understand the complexity of P. vivax infections, the CaixaResearch project "Novel organ-on-a-chip technology to study extracellular vesicles-mediated cryptic infections in Plasmodium vivax malaria" has produced this video to disseminate key insights into cryptic erythrocytic infections. The initiative is led by Hernando A del Portillo and Carmen Fernandez-Becerra, group leaders of the Plasmodium vivax and Exosome Research Group (PvREX) at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) and the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) in Spain.

IGTP researchers engage in World Cancer Research Day with talks and workshops

  • In collaboration with the Badalona City Council, a series of events and talks organised to mark the 40th anniversary of the Germans Trias Hospital will deal with topics related to science and health.
  • The event on Sunday at the Badalona Museum is organised by Amics de Can Ruti and will feature researchers from the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) and the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO).

Researcher Elisa Martró unravels what we know about these diseases and discusses her projects, both in the hospital setting and in communities, working with vulnerable populations.
