Researcher Elisa Martró unravels what we know about these diseases and discusses her projects, both in the hospital setting and in communities, working with vulnerable populations. The podcast enhances the mission of awareness and dissemination of IGTP.
The certification body AENOR has accredited the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) for successfully implementing a research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) management system in accordance with the UNE 166002:2021 Standard. This certification is a guarantee of good practices, and confirms that the implementated R&D&I management system meets the statutory requirements.
The Biostatistics Unit is made up by a team of statisticians and mathematicians who conduct and support biomedical research primarily at the Can Ruti Campus, and also in collaboration with other public or private organizations. The Unit has recently been introduced to the technologies and services provided by the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP).
A new lung cancer treatment has allowed 36.8% of patients to achieve complete tumour disappearance, compared to the 6.9% rate of the standard post-surgery treatment. In addition, 85% of patients survive two years after receiving chemo-immunotherapy before surgery compared to 63% who receive chemotherapy alone before surgery. The study involved oncologist from ICO Badalona and IGTP researcher, Teresa Morán.
Recruitment for the clinical trial TÉSTATE PrEP has started. This clinical trial has been designed by the Centre for Epidemiological Studies on HIV/AIDS in Catalonia (CEEISCAT) to implement a pilot plan for online HIV/STI screening in PrEP users.

The four visits under the "Visita la recerca" (Visit the research) cycle of the Fundació La Marató de TV3 at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) have drawn to a successful close. More than 50 collaborators have had the opportunity to gain insight into various research projects funded through this charitable initiative.
The third General Assembly of the END-VOC Consortium took place on 7 and 8 June hosted by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal). Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), who is leading the GCAT project and collaborating in several of the project's work packages, was one of the partners who participated in this meeting attended by more than 50 consortium members.

One of the most commonly practised cardiovascular health interventions, the coronary bypass, could undergo a revolutionary innovation with the joint research carried out by the Blood and Tissue Bank (BST), the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) and the Vascular Engineering and Applied Biomedicine Group (GEAB) of the IQS (URL). The three centres are working to develop a vascular graft from donor veins that can be used for bypass surgery to restore blood flow.
