Latest episode of IGTP’s 'Un Bri de Ciència' takes on viral hepatitis

To mark World Hepatitis Day, the podcast 'Un Bri de Ciència' dedicates an episode to viral hepatitis, specifically focusing on Hepatitis B and C, which are considered to be the most severe types. Researcher Elisa Martró unravels what we know about these diseases and discusses her projects, both in the hospital setting and in communities, working with vulnerable populations. The podcast enhances the mission of awareness and dissemination of IGTP.

IGTP's Innovation Unit receives AENOR's R&D&I Certification

The certification body AENOR has accredited the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) for successfully implementing a research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) management system in accordance with the UNE 166002:2021 Standard. This certification is a guarantee of good practices, and confirms that the implementated R&D&I management system meets the statutory requirements.

IGTP's latest platform: the Biostatistics Unit

The Biostatistics Unit is made up by a team of statisticians and mathematicians who conduct and support biomedical research primarily at the Can Ruti Campus, and also in collaboration with other public or private organizations. The Unit has recently been introduced to the technologies and services provided by the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP).

IGTP is appointed as ‘EATRIS Expert Centre’

EATRIS, the European infrastructure for translational medicine, has appointed 7 Expert Centres, to provide high value added services historically offered by EATRIS Coordination and Support. Those expert services that are complementary to the existing laboratory research services offered by EATRIS institutions cover crucial areas such as innovation management, regulatory strategy, translational feasibility, and early health technology assessment. With 7 newly appointed Expert Centres, EATRIS will continue serving Europe's translational research efforts and growing demand for expert services.

The Generalitat de Catalunya recognises 21 IGTP groups as Consolidated or Emerging Research Groups

The Agència de Gestió d'Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca (AGAUR) has published the final resolution of the call for grants to support the activities of research groups in universities, centres and foundations. In this year's call, 21 IGTP groups have been recognised as Consolidated or Emerging Research Groups, 7 of which will receive funding totalling €340,000.

IGTP receives the visit of Cristóbal Belda, director of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III

The visit of the director of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) -a public body attached to the Ministry of Science and Innovation, responsible for the promotion, coordination and funding of health research- at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) was an opportunity to gain direct insight into the latest advances and research while addressing strategic issues.
